Engineering Hope:
Clean, affordable drinking water for
three remote Filipino communities.
From the indigenous tribes of Mindoro to the rural schools of Tarlac and the coastal town of Mariveles, families are still drinking unsafe water or paying more than they can afford. Our executive director lives in the Philippines and works alongside local Manila partners and Advisors to design simple, durable water systems that communities can own and maintain.
With your help, we can provide reliable, safe drinking water to more than 1,000 people across these three communities.
The Silent Crisis in Rural Communities
When clean water exists,
it’s often out of reach
In many rural Filipino communities, treated drinking water either doesn’t exist or is too expensive for everyday use. Families are forced to choose between paying for water and paying for food. Remote locations, limited infrastructure, and the cost of treatment supplies make it difficult for most organizations to help — especially in smaller villages that are easy to overlook.
Because our team lives in the Philippines, we can reach hard-to-access communities, design systems that fit local realities, and follow up long after installation.
Technically-Sound,
Locally-Guided Design
Our executive director, Dr. Byran Fuhrmann, and our Filipino advisor, Dr. Genesis Saludares, are both based in Manila. Together, they design water systems that are:
-
Simple enough for local operators to maintain
-
Robust enough for rural conditions and typhoons
-
Affordable enough for long-term use without outside funding

Where We Work in the Philippines

Our Impact Strategy
Successfully delivering clean water requires more than just filters. We've built a comprehensive strategy to overcome the core challenges in the Philippines:
-
Overcoming Logistical Barriers: Our team in Manila handles shipping, customs, and transport to remote areas, managing the entire project lifecycle from design to installation.
-
Empowering Through Education: We don't just install filters; we train communities on safe water use, hygiene, and system care, so people understand why treated water matters and how to protect their health.
-
Building Local Expertise: We identify and train community members to operate and maintain the system, creating a sustainable model of local ownership that doesn't depend on outside professionals for simple upkeep.

Context Driven Solutions
Each community—Mariveles, Tarlac, and Mindoro—faces unique water security challenges, requiring a tailored approach for its specific water source and socio-economic conditions.

Local Ownership
We partner with local churches, schools, and town centers, training community members in system maintenance to ensure long-term sustainability and empowerment.

Our projects are built upon a shared, highly cost-effective and scalable ultrafiltration system designed for reliability and long-term value.
