Engineering Hope:
A Sustainable Water Solution for the Philippines

From the indigenous tribes of Mindoro to the mountainous schoolyards of Tarlac and the coastal town of Mariveles, a common barrier prevents progress: the lack of safe, affordable drinking water. We have a plan to change that.

Together, we can deliver clean, reliable drinking water to three remote Filipino communities.

The Silent Crisis in Rural Communities

Limited Access to Treated Drinking Water

Rural Filipinos often have limited access to treated drinking water and even when it is available, they often can't afford it. But the solution isn't so simple - it requires trips to rural areas, local knowledge/language, technical expertise, and the right supplies — barriers that often prevent effective aid.

Our On-the-Ground,

Technically-Sound Solution

With our Executive Director, Dr. Byran Fuhrmann, and local Filipino advisor, Dr. Genesis Saludares, based in Manila, we have the direct access and scientific oversight to implement a solution that works. We've developed a robust, affordable turnkey system designed for the unique challenges of these communities.

Our Impact Strategy

Successfully delivering clean water requires more than just filters. We've built a comprehensive strategy to overcome the core challenges in the Philippines:

  • Overcoming Logistical Barriers: Our local team in Manila has the crucial access needed to reach these remote villages, managing the entire project lifecycle from design to implementation.

  • Empowering Through Education: We don't just install filters; we partner with local leaders to educate the community on the importance of treated water, ensuring long-term adoption and health benefits.

  • Building Local Expertise: We identify and train community members to operate and maintain the system, creating a sustainable model of local ownership that doesn't depend on outside professionals for simple upkeep.

Context Driven Solutions

Each community—Mariveles, Tarlac, and Mindoro—faces unique water security challenges, requiring a tailored approach for its specific water source and socio-economic conditions.

Local Ownership

We partner with local churches, schools, and town centers, training community members in system maintenance to ensure long-term sustainability and empowerment.
